So far I have looked at the different roles of the TL but now I want to look at the importance of the TL to the school community. I have found some more clips that describe this importance.
Audrey thinks that as teachers we teach students to read and the library should provide a range of reading stimulus to engage students. The library has resources that cater to early developing learners through to the more advanced learner. The resources are from a variety of media including print, digital and e-resources.
Jake, the Principal sees the library as being an extension
of the classroom and involved in a three-way process of learning:
student/parent/teacher. He believes that there is integration of
technology through fostering a love of reading by providing various
forms of media to engage learners. Jake sees the library as having a
integrative role with the teaching inside the classroom.

Jake, the Principal is in this one as well and states that the TL and library has a complex support structure to enhance learning. Annie agrees with Jake saying that students are able to take control of their own learning by using the library's flexibility. For example, coming to library on their own, in a small group or as part of a class. Annie believes that the library should provide a comfortable welcoming environment for all students.

These two clips highlights the importance of the library within the school. Ensuring that the library is a place where students WANT to visit, should lead to appropriate use of resources by students. Having a varied amount of resources caters to all students on different levels.
